Prayer

Prayer Matters at CCA

AT CCA, Academics matter. A Biblical Worldview matters. And yes—PRAYER matters too!
God’s Word tells us that we do not naturally know how to pray. That’s why, as a Christian school, we are intentional about teaching our students both how to pray and who to pray for. From kindergarten through 12th grade, we help our students develop the habit—and the heart—of biblical prayer.

Who Do We Pray For?

Each school day, our students pray specifically and purposeful
Monday – We pray for national leaders: the President, U.S. Congress, and Supreme Court—including Senators Scott and Graham, and Representative Norman.Tuesday – We lift up state leaders: Governor McMaster, the South Carolina Legislature and Supreme Court—including Senator Gregory and Representative Brandon Newton.
Wednesday – We pray for our local leaders: Mayor DeVenny, city and county council members by name.
Thursday – We pray for our CCA teachers and their families, naming each one individually.
Friday – We pray for our CCA families, classroom by classroom, calling each family by name.

What Do We Pray For?

We ask God to:Help each person be a godly example
Grant divine wisdom in every decision
Lead them to make choices that please the Lord
Be an encouragement and blessing to others
Provide good health and divine protection
Cause them to be prosperous and successful in doing what is right

After thirteen years of praying this way, week after week, we believe deeply in the power of prayer to shape lives and hearts.

“More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.”
— Alfred Lord Tennyson —

God answers prayer.
Satan trembles when he hears the prayerful cries of the weakest saint.

At CCA, we can think of nothing more valuable to teach our students than what the disciples once asked of Jesus: “Lord, teach us to pray.” (Luke 11:1)
