A Community of Faith and Growth

High school is a big deal. It’s where lifelong friendships form, faith takes shape, and doors open for what’s next. High school can be intense, so CCA students learn how to manage responsibilities in a healthy way that prioritizes balance in mind, body, and spirit. This helps teens build resilience, manage stress, and develop the self-awareness needed to overcome difficulties.

High school is a season of growth, and it’s so much easier to navigate when teens feel supported and connected. At CCA, we’ve built a culture where students are surrounded by authentic relationships, meaningful experiences, and plenty of opportunities to explore their interests — and find a place to belong. At CCA, students explore new ideas and build important skills in a joyful, Christ-centered setting. We believe in fostering curiosity and development through play and interactive activities — which helps students gain confidence and set the stage for a lifetime of learning.

Looking for the right Christian high school brings up lots of questions for both teens and parents. The Right High School Can Change Everything:

  • Students wonder if they’ll fit in, and if they’ll have the chance to really explore their interests
  • Parents want to know that their teens will be challenged academically and be surrounded by the right influences

At CCA, we’ll help you and your child find those answers.

We believe God calls His followers to excellence as a matter of principle, and as an act of worship. To that end, the pursuit of excellence permeates everything we do during the high school years at CCA, including academics. Our goal is to produce young Christian men and women who are equipped with the skills necessary for success in college, the modern job market, in marriage, in church, and in life.

Carolina Christian Academy is designed for families who value challenging academics, but also want the Biblical values they’ve instilled at home to be reinforced at school. We know that a teen’s faith is often challenged during the high school years, which is why CCA provides spiritual mentorship to help students develop a Biblical worldview and strengthen their relationships with Christ. This equips them to navigate a complex and changing world in college and beyond. Classes integrate Christian principles and real-world applications, encouraging students to approach learning with purpose and integrity. Daily discussions, chapel, and service experiences help students develop a faith that will guide them long after high school.

With a laser like focus on the Fruits of the Spirit, CCA prepares young adults to be stewards of the gifts God has given them in preparation for the calling of God in their lives by training them as independent Christian scholars who seek God, love all people, demonstrate a zeal for learning, think analytically, and communicate effectively.

Our Bob Jones curriculum provides Christ-centered instruction in all subject areas, helping students develop a biblical worldview as they grow intellectually. Through small group instruction and one-on-one support, teachers lovingly guide and mentor each student, recognizing their unique strengths and helping them navigate any challenges they may encounter along their educational journey.

TRUSTING TEACHERS | COLLEGE | CAREER | LIFE

Here, teachers are more than instructors — they’re Christian mentors and encouragers. The smaller size of CCA means that CCA students have had the same teachers for several years. Nothing could better enable these teachers to better know a student’s gifts, talents, potential, and work ethic. With this knowledge, these teachers can guide each student as they think about a college major.  In addition, the dual enrollment relationship that CCA has with USCL means that CCA students are enrolled in USCL as well as CCA.  That being the case, the career counselors at USCL are available to each CCA student.

However, there are two more counselors that are more important than these two.  We have all students memorize the Ten Commandments.  We stress to students the fifth commandment which says to “Honor your father and your mother”. (Ex. 20:12) No one knows a student as well as that student’s parents. We advise students to discuss college and career with their parents. Knowing that no one knows a student as well as his or her parents, we  teach students to respect the wisdom and guidance of parents.  But there is one more Counselor far above all others – the Holy Spirit. CCA begins each day with prayer and will pray other times during the day. We intentionally teach each student how to pray and instill in their hearts to look to God for guidance.  In Proverbs 11:14 the Bible informs us, “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety”. We believe that, taken together, these four counselors will give a student the best college and career counseling possible.

Is CCA Like Two Schools in One?
Carolina Christian Academy is truly unique.

Not only do students receive a strong, college-preparatory high school education, but they also experience something many have compared to a Bible institute education—all before graduating.

Dr. Mills, the founder of CCA, brings a rich background as a former Bible college professor. His philosophy is simple: high school students are capable of far more than they often believe. He challenges them to rise to high expectations—academically and spiritually.

His vision for CCA is that students graduate not only prepared for college, but also deeply grounded in biblical truth.

By the time they finish 12th grade, students will have studied subjects such as:

  • · Hermeneutics
  • · Systematic Theology
  • · Apologetics
  • · Creation Science
  • · Eschatology
  • · Biblical Counseling …and more

At CCA, high school is more than just preparation for college—it’s preparation for life, faith, and leadership.

Administrator’s Reading Challenge

At CCA, every student is required to read one book per month—nine books each school year. But that’s just the beginning. Our administrator challenges every student to go further: one book each week. Many rise to the challenge, and some even read more than 200 books in a single school year.

Like them or not, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Mark Cuban, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg are among the most influential leaders in the world. Who are they? Titans of Wall Street, Microsoft, Shark Tank, Tesla, SpaceX, and Facebook.

What do they all have in common? They are relentless readers. Warren Buffett spends nearly 80% of his day reading. Mark Cuban devotes more than three hours daily to it. Bill Gates reads more than a book a week.

In the same way, we pray that our students will be shaped by Jesus into leaders who make a lasting impact. But to lead well,  one must be well informed—and that requires reading. That’s why Dr. Mills challenges each student to take on The Administrator’s Reading Challenge: one book each week during the school year.

Those who complete the challenge are honored as Administrator’s Reading Challenge Winners—earning not only an award but also a special day of fun and adventure at an exciting location.

How a CCA’s Activity Buses Impact Student Performance

A school’s activity bus is far more than a way to take students on field trips, athletic events, or fine arts competitions. It is an extension of the educational experience itself—shaping how students, parents, and the community view the school’s values and priorities. A well-maintained, comfortable activity bus communicates that the school cares about student safety, comfort, convenience, and well-being. At the same time, it reflects the administration’s commitment to excellence and leaves a lasting impression on parents and the public.

For students, the bus ride often becomes a formative part of school life. Many parents recall moments on the activity bus more vividly than time spent in the classroom. That’s because these rides provide a unique space for social and emotional growth. Whether sharing laughs with friends, learning responsibility on the road, or simply relaxing before and after events, students are developing social skills and independence that directly support emotional well-being—and by extension, academic success.

Recognizing the importance of this experience, CCA invested in not one but two MCI motor coach tour buses for student travel. These motor coaches are air-conditioned, spotless, and carefully maintained, offering students both comfort and safety. Just as CCA’s classrooms are equipped with advanced technology and its gym stands as a centerpiece of excellence, these MCI tour buses reflect the same standard of quality across every part of the student experience.

Nearly Unlimited Opportunities in Fine Arts Competition

Students in elementary, middle and high School compete in various categories in the South Carolina Association Fine Arts Competition held annually in Columbia. The confidence instilled in these students results in poised and articulate adults. Over the years, CCA students have received many top awards, even the best-of-show awards.

Students may compete in more than 100 categories in Bible, Music, Science, Speech, Art, and Academics.
