How To Understand Your PEERS Personal Scores
PEERS is an acronym made of the first letter of the five areas evaluated by this nationally standardized biblical worldview test. These five areas are: Politics, Economics, Education, Religion, and Social Issues. The test asks ten questions about each of these five areas for a total of fifty questions.
On the front side of your PEERS Personal Scorecard you will find your report divided into six areas each of which has a heading highlighted in yellow. These six areas are: Subject Category Scores; Character Trait Scores; Summary Results; View of Government; Impact on Society, and Item Response Section. Take a minute to find each of these six areas.
“Subject Category Scores” appear in the top left section under your name and address. Listed on the left are the five areas tested – Politics, Economics, Education, Religion, and Social (Social issues).
Choosing a subject area and looking across to the right you will find these four columns:
- SCORE: This column tells you what percent of the questions in that area you got right;
- GRADE: This column tells you your letter grade for that area (see back for explanation);
- PEER AVG: This column tells you the average percent right by the other Christian school students taking this test;
- GROUP AVG: This column tells you the average percent right by the CCA students who took the test this year.
“Character Trait Scores” measures the two character traits of “Conviction” and “Consistency.” Each is scored on a scale of one to ten. The “Conviction” score indicates how willing you are to vocalize and fight for your beliefs. The “Consistently” score indicates how well you apply the principles of one area to the others. The higher the score the better. Also listed are the averages for Christian school students in the nation (the Peer Average) and our group’s average this year (Group Avg).
“Summary Results” reports on your Biblical view of government (Limited Government) – namely that our hope is in the Lord, not government, and that only individuals under God can solve our problems, not government. On the second line is your Composite score which tells how well you did in all five areas combined. The score range for both is -100 to +100. Also listed are your letter grade, the averages for Christian school students in the nation (the Peer Average) and our group’s average this year (Group Avg).
“View of Government” is a graph of your Biblical worldview of “Limited Government.” The higher the score the better. The range is from -100 to +100. To the right of this graph in a green box is an explanation of what the graph is telling you.
“Impact on Society” is a graph of your likely influence as salt and light in today’s world. To the left of this graph in a green box is an explanation of what the graph is telling you.
“Item Response Section” across the bottom lists the numbers of the ten questions you were asked in each of the five areas and tells you if your answer agreed with the Bible (A), disagreed with Bible (D), or if you didn’t know (N).
